We are quite happy to publish the second issue of the inaugural volume of the online journal “The Beats of Natural Sciences”. Our aim is to present this journal as an effective medium connecting the reasearchers, the teachers in various academic institutions as well as the young generation students, who got some exposure of scientific research either through their project work or through some other activities, together. We find that already our effort is getting some warm response from at least a section of the said target audience and different people in various Colleges, Universities and Institutes even at national and international level expressed their appreciation in favour of this venture. An Approach for Defining the Optimal Path for a Mobile Robot Navigating in an Area with Fixed Obstructions Using Genetic Algorithm Applying Travelling Salesman Problem Suman Kumar Guha, Anannya Mukherjee and Soumak Roy
Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre, Kolkata has positive ion accelerating facilities such as K‐130 room Temperature Cyclotron, K‐500 Super Conducting Cyclotron for various nuclear physics experiments. In order to reduce accidental radiation exposure the cyclotron vault, pit and ECR high bay areas are in accessible during the operation of the cyclotron due to high intensity of mixed radiation fields and neutron flux. This paper deals with an approach to define the unique least weighted path using TSP (applying GA) for a path tracking mobile robot within those in accessible areas with fixed obstructions through several intermediate nodes.
We start with the gauge independent analysis of Polyakov string and give a review of the emergence of noncommutativity in the context of an open string. The boundary conditions are not treated as constraints, but they are systematically implemented by modifying the canonical Poisson bracket structure.
The number of patients seeking herbal therapy is growing very rapidly. Herbal medicines are now in great demand in the developing world for primary health care not because they are relatively cheap but also for better cultural acceptability, improved matching with the human body and negligible side effects. Though, recent observations indicate that all herbal medicines may not be safe since severe consequences are reported for some herbal remedies. Most herbal products in the market today have not been passed through drug approval processes to demonstrate their safety and efficacy. Thousands of years of traditional use can provide us with valuable guidelines to the selection, preparation and application of herbal formulations. In the present review our endeavor is to describe the present status and the future of herbal medicine.
In this review, the importance, different types of redox reactions and their applications in different field mainly, in biological system have been explored. Examples and mechanisms of Outer-sphere, inner-sphere and PCET (proton coupled electron transfer) redox reactions are also discussed.
Changes in Biochemical Constituents in response to Arsenic-induced Stress in Pteris vittata and Eichhornia crassipes to determine Stress Tolerance – A Review Supatra Sen
Large areas of West Bengal have to rely on arsenic-contaminated ground-water for irrigation of staple crops such as rice. Phytoremediation is the use of plants to remove or render contaminants harmless in the ecosystem while Phytoextraction is the use of plants, preferably hyperaccumulators, to take up contaminants. In this work, Pteris vittata, exhibited remarkable ability to hyperaccumulate arsenic in the fronds as compared to Eichhornia. While arsenic toxicity resulted in significantly diminished biochemical constituents in Eichhornia, Pteris was comparatively less affected. This indicates that P.vittata is better equipped to tolerate arsenic stress than Eichhornia and is more suitable for arsenic phytoremediation.
Asian elephants of Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary have been migrating to West Bengal each year since 1987. The study of their migration ethology is showing that the biggest tusker leads the migratory herd as it remembers the migration route and each year they are extending their migratory path for utilizing the unexplored resource rich locations as a part of their homerange extension. We studied the behavioural patterns of this increasing population of migratory elephants from Dalma and tried to analyze the reasons behind this movement each year which is causing serious man-animal conflict in West Bengal as they are rampaging the agriculatural crops.
