About the Department

The Department of Hindi was established in the year 2007 under Calcutta University. Then the department was subsequently affiliated to West Bengal State University in the academic year 2008-2009. The Department offers B.A Honours and B.A General course. The department initially started with B.A General pass course in the year 2007. Part Time Lecturer, Dr. Md. Asif Alam and Munni Gupta. After two years Munni Gupta joined as a Assisstant Prof. through CSC and left the department. After that Dr. Md. Asif Alam continued to take Hindi classes till now with Guest Lecturers , Mr. Mrittyunjay Kumar Pandey, Dr. Sriparna Tarafdar, Smt. Mira Shaw, Mr. Amit Mishra. Under the Headship of Dr. Md. Asif Alam the department established an Honours Course of study was offerd to the students in 2015. The department has maintained Socio – Cultural approach towards students by celebration of Hindi Diwas, Excursion, Cultural programs and extra co-curricular activities.
